Here at Million Fishes we have been keeping busy! We have quite the variety of interesting events coming up. This month and next come by our gallery and see the work of our resident artists at other venues.
September 10th: "Projections" in the MF Gallery 7-11pm "Projections" is a one-night event featuring interactive video art, video sculpture, projected interactive visualizations, and immersive spaces by local artists Justyn Myers, Jonathan Ferran, Mary Franck and Rich DDT.
September 12th: Art Fag Potluck in the MF Gallery 5-9pm Artfag Potluk is a once a month potluck gathering of like-minded creative folks who share work and get feedback. Every first (or second) Sunday of the month from 5-9pm at the Million Fishes Collective, 2-3 presenters show works in progress or recent work. Feedback sessions are facilitated using Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process.
September 16th: "Women Myths Deities" Opening in the MF Gallery 6-9pm Meredith Rom's new collages merge her photography with material found in magazines. The work explores the aesthetics of beauty and spirituality while breaking down basic elements of composition.
September 17th: Sister Kate Burlesque at DNA Lounge from 9pm -2am Million Fishes resident artist Wendy Golden and her troupe Sister Kate will be performing at the four year anniversary Hubba Hubba show!
October 1st: "Beast!" Opening in the MF Gallery 7-11pm Million Fishes Gallery is pleased to present Beast, a modern menagerie and multi-media arts exhibition. Opening night promises lustrous visual and auditory delights. Please join us for lush, itchy, writhing and fantastical beastly concoctions from a variety of talented Bay Area artists. Beast showcases interactive installations, works on paper, sculpture, performance, and sound.
October 17th: Capsule Design Festival in Hayes Valley Park 11am-6pm After 6 years of outfitting stylish San Franciscans, CAPSULE Design Festival in Hayes Valley teams up with Million Fishes member Danielle Cohen of Missing Piece Productions in October 2010 to make this one-day shopping event even more awesome.
CAPSULE is 130 independent men's women's and kids clothing and accessories designers, live musicians, and other assorted fantasmigorica.
